Room to rent

Well-lit room on the third floor of family home [duplex]. It is furnished with full bed, desk, chair, chest of drawers, closet, bookshelf/storage unit, night stand, lamps and small mall fridge.

Newton is a 'near-suburb.' Carleton Street is a...
neighborly, quiet street. My home is a charming 2-family, 3-story Victorian built in 1882, which means cozy but spacious and built so you can't hear each other much. Very close to multiple bus lines and a trolley-bus, including express buses to downtown Boston, so easy access to Boston, Cambridge, Boston College, etc. Two blocks from Exit 127 on the Mass Turnpike. Logan Airport and South Station are both an easy 15-20-minute drive. Getting out of town by car also easy. It is near many restaurants, a supermarket, etc. There's a Starbucks at the end of our street (if that's important!).

You and other boarder have a clean, shared bathroom. Boarders are expected to keep their rooms clean and free of open food. They also share the responsibility of cleaning their bathroom and dusting 3rd floor landing.

A cleaning woman cleans 1st & 2nd floor twice a month. If asked, she charges $20 to clean your shared bathroom and $20 to clean your room.

Boarders are expected to clean up kitchen after meals, wipe down counters, etc and generally not leave belongings in shared spaces.

Snow shoveling & taking out garbage is a shared responsibility.

The house is quiet --noise doesn't travel much. I am well-traveled [for work], so am very comfortable with [good] people from anywhere. --For me, best formula is we socialize as much as we wish, keep to ourselves as much as we wish.
