Furnished Penthouse Loft Condo (1400 sq ft) in Cambridge
A fully furnished 1400 sq feet penthouse loft (1.5 BR and 2 bathrooms), a few blocks from Central Square with fabulous views of the city.
* Building exterior and interiors are completely rehabbed. The gourmet kitchen has maple cabinets, granite... counters and high quality stainless steel appliances.
* High ceilings, 40 ft open plan fireplaced living/dining and kitchen with hardwood floors. Master bathroom has Corian counters and limestone surround on the Jacuzzi tub. Alcove can be used as a bedroom or study.
* The condo is spacious, modern and clean, while all rooms are fully furnished, including a dining table and queen size bed in the master bedroom. Some furniture could be swapped out for yours as needed, but I cannot offer the place unfurnished.
* Newly installed in-unit laundry (washer/dryer), dishwasher and microwave with central air/heating and large storage in basement.
* Wireless internet access & cable TV available (service fee required) and security system with intercom.
* The condo is on the 3rd floor of a 3-unit condominium. Grocery stores, restaurants, parks, Kendall Square and Central-Sq T stop all within a 5 min walk.
* Parking spot available behind the building ($150 optional monthly fee), as well as ample street parking in a largely residential area. Secure basement storage provided, including for bikes ($150 required monthly fee).
* The building is self-managed by the owners (just 3 of us) and we are highly responsive and have invested in keeping the building in great shape (new HVAC installed, building facade upgraded, water heaters replaced regularly etc). We keep all costs manageable by not contracting an external management company. However, we expect tenants to undertake general responsibilities for regular upkeep, communal duties and maintenance, while offering support and reimbursement for any unexpected expenses.
The current tenant, an MIT Professor, has lived here comfortably for many years and has taken very good care of the apartment.
The monthly rent is $3900 including all condo fees. A full deposit of one month's rent is expected upon signing the lease. Utilities are separate and should be handled by the tenant (around $200 per month). An annual 5% rent increase is customary to handle condo/building maintenance expenses.
Lease must begin July 1st, 2026 onward though the move-in date is flexible. A minimum 12 month sublet is required and renewable multi-year agreement preferable.
